Mission Control is the organization responsible for end-to-end workforce planning, technical onboarding, and resource allocations for all technical departments at Facebook. We work with stakeholders and partners across the company to accomplish our mission of planning and shaping Facebook’s technical workforce. This is a people manager opportunity for the Tooling team within Mission Control. The manager will lead a team of high performing program managers responsible for delivering tooling solutions to support our mission. This position will work closely with peer managers, as well as cross-functional teams and leaders in Engineering, Analytics, Finance Enterprise, Recruiting, and HR. This manager will be accountable to strategize, plan, and execute initiatives as it aligns with program visions, balancing individual experiences with Facebook’s company priorities.

Required Skills:

1. Manage a team of 6+ Tooling Program Managers

2. Build a high performing team which includes hiring, onboarding, mentoring, developing and coaching tooling program managers

3. Create frameworks for organizational health and operational excellence in areas such as team organization, project and portfolio management, partner and stakeholder communications

4. Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Engineering, Finance, Recruiting, HRBPs, People Operations and People Analytics

5. Partner with product and engineering managers to solve complex problems in FB Tech’s workforce strategy and planning

6. Design and maintain scalable organization in an ambiguous and fast paced environment

7. Develop a roadmap to align with company priorities, identifying gaps, risks and communicating progress and shifts to leadership and partners

8. Leverage comprehensive understanding of the Mission Control portfolio and intersections of programs/workstreams to act as the “bridge” between the portfolio of work and the PMs to promote understanding of existing and desirable intersections across programs/workstreams

9. Maintain full visibility of project statuses and potential roadblocks across the tooling portfolio, support resolution of cross team risks, enable program intersections, integrated processes, and tooling goals

Minimum Qualifications:

10. B.S./M.S. in a technical discipline such as Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Applications & Systems Development or equivalent experience

11. 3+ years experience in people management

12. 5+ years experience in technical program/product management or systems integration

13. Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration with cross-functional and leadership teams

14. Experience building a high performing team which includes hiring, onboarding, mentoring, developing and coaching program managers

15. Knowledge in program and project management methodologies

16. Experience being a thought leader within the organization and someone who can help internal solution strategy globally and challenge others in the organization to change

17. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working autonomously in a fast-paced ambiguous environment

18. Experience translating strategic initiatives into roadmaps, defining tooling, processes, operations and driving execution
