Arkansas Tech is seeking to employ 1 Full-time and 2 Part-time SafeCare Provider to provide curriculum training for families in Pope, Conway, Faulkner, Van Buren, Searcy, Newton, Boone, Marion, and Baxter counties that have been referred by DCFS. SafeCare Providers are supervised by and report to an Enrollment Coordinator. SafeCare is an evidence based, parent training curriculum for families with children under 6 who have been referred by DCFS. These positions are grant funded and are contingent on funding availability.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Deliver the SafeCare training material in the home of area clients
- Participate in all training programs
- Report suspected child maltreatment
- Participate in family centered meetings and/or court hearings as needed.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Must possess valid driver’s license and vehicle that can be used for transportation to training and client’s homes.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Rehabilitation Science, Education or a related human services field required.
Ability to write and complete written reports.
Ability to remain calm in a stressful environment.
Ability to minimize travel time and distance to northern counties of Area 5.
Conversational knowledge of Spanish.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
Work office northern Area 5 (around Harrison and Mountain Home)
Work involves driving to training and serving clients at their homes.
Must serve northern part of SafeCare Coverage Area (around Harrison and Mountain Home).
