Position: Retail Manager
Physical Location: 1222 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901
Reports to: Market or Division President

Work Hours: 8-5 M-F Hours could vary depending on need.
This position provides leadership and management direction for Branch Managers and branch locations in a market. Reporting to the local President, this position provides day to day direction in creating a positive work environment, community development, increasing growth and profitability, and providing accurate and superior customer service while ensuring adherence to established bank policies and operational and security controls.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides day to day management for branch managers in market.
Manages, coaches, and develops staff to attain internal performance objectives for market branch offices' service, business volume, deposits, and quality of audit reports.
Serves as senior escalation for more complex and sensitive matters and issues.
Responsible for overall branch office operations in market.
Maintains knowledge and stays abreast of security policies and procedures.
Maintains knowledge of branch policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulatory compliance related to assigned responsibilities.
Responsible for ensuring all business transactions and practices within span of control comply with all regulations and the Code of Conduct.
Responsible for fostering environment among management team that ensures branches operate in compliance with all bank policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulatory compliance related to assigned responsibilities.
Conducts branch location visits to perform observations and reviews to successfully coach staff in proper practice of sales and service strategies and in ensuring adherence with established policies and controls.
Proactively monitors and ensures timely resolution of exceptions reported from operational and compliance support areas.
Responsible for ensuring maintenance of office building, grounds, equipment and fixtures within market.
Handles customer problems and complaints; counsels customers with special needs or requests.
Provides and maintains a professional, business-like atmosphere within the branch office.
Hires, sets goals, conducts performance evaluations and recommends salary adjustments.
Counsels employees when needed. Coordinates staff training when needed.
Ensures testing of branch security equipment and investigates security issues when needed.
Represents the financial institution in public relations activities and community affairs.
Participates in and completes required training as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Two to five years of experience in a financial institution.
Knowledgeable of the Bank's policies and procedures.
Knowledgeable of laws and regulations applicable to bank operations practices.
Good written, verbal and supervisory skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Frequent travel between branch locations required.
