Description

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintains the Supply Cart System inventory

Inventories floor stock items in assigned areas of the hospital using preprinted inventory worksheets and replenishes the items to their par levels daily

Straightens the supplies left on the supply carts on a daily basis in preparation for taking inventory

Takes a complete inventory of all supplies on the carts using the preprinted sub-inventory worksheets within an average of 25 minutes per cart with no more than two errors per cart

Replenishes the supply carts using the preprinted pick lists within an average of 25 minutes per cart with no more than two errors per cart

Makes certain that all supplies are in the proper locations and neatly arranged on the supply carts. All replenished supply carts are then placed appropriate storage area

Seeks help if unable to resolve issues

Provides courteous,timely,and appropriate service as measured by direct observation and customer feedback.

Performs other duties as directed

2. Restocks inventory

Checks supplies delivered from Central Stores and vendors, making sure that items received and their quantities are correct.

Affixes patient charge labels to individual patient chargeable items.

Assists in restocking the shelves in the Supply Cart System with supplies received daily

3. Professionally assists in filling and delivering supply orders

Fills supply orders for nursing units and walk-in customers

Maintains superior customer relations with all customers

Recognizes that job is vital to the mission of the Hospital

Strives to exceed expectations and is responsive to needs of customers and department

4. Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the department and the supply carts

Takes empty cartons and trash to the compactor daily when assigned

Maintains the stock in a neat and orderly manner; rotating stock as needed when new stock received

Assists in cleaning the department’s shelves on a quarterly basis

Assists in thoroughly cleaning the supply carts and automated supply cabinets on a monthly basis

5. Restocks supplies held within the automated supply cabinets

Ensures stock-outs are pulled and filled within one hour of notification

Fully replenishes supplies in the automated supply cabinets on a daily basis

Inventories each automated supply cabinet weekly

Corrects any discrepancies between station quantity and physical quantity

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Required – High school diploma or general education degree (GED)EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Preferred – 1 years supply chain managment inventory experience preferred
