Job Description/Summary: The Customer Development Manager for Military CR Poultry will provide the opportunity to gain direct sales experience and learn the fundamentals of managing a customer development role. The Customer Development Manager position is responsible for leading, building, and implementing collaborative business solutions for the Tyson CR Poultry business. This position will acquire and leverage knowledge of Tray Pack Poultry industry with Military managers and buyers. This will include things like seasonal trends, commodity markets, and changes in consumer purchase behavior. The successful candidate must deliver results while demonstrating the companies 5 C’s (caring, commitment, creativity, candor and collaboration).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Government negotiations, CR Poultry forecasts, CR Poultry reservations, problem solving order to delivery, broker management, order to cash management and manages attainment of annual quota of assigned categories, utilizing various systems while collaborating with Fresh Poultry Strategy & Planning teams and other cross functions. Provides input to development of the Annual Growth Plans. Ensures execution against 4Ps tactics aligned to category strategies and Fresh Poultry cut balance. Works with CR Poultry Business Unit team as well as customers to ideate and commercialize retailer specific products. Develops effective internal and external communications, leveraging category, consumer and marketplace insights. Establishes, nurtures, and maintains productive working relationships with key external and internal stakeholders. Acts as back-up and supports fellow Military CDM’s with administrative and analytical tasks as part of their own development.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience: Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience preferably to include exposure to direct selling of Fresh Poultry in the retail food channel.

Required Skills: Strong organization skills, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, multi-tasking, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to work independently; Ability to translate corporate direction into sales successes. Proficiency in Microsoft software (esp. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); Ability to learn and utilize multiple internal systems; Understanding of motivational leadership, conflict resolution and strong selling skills are required.

Travel: 5-7 domestic trips/year and 1 international trip every 3 years.
