GDIT’s Military Health IT Team is HIRING a Software Developer to support GDIT’s Military Health Division across various locations. As a Software Developer at GDIT you will have the opportunity to integrate relationships between business units, information systems and central corporate functions to ensure success in meeting customer goals and objectives. You will be trusted to work with a variety of different technologies.
+ Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software
+ Develops and implement the Appian and web-based applications.
+ Creates various document artifacts including design/ technical approach document, target state diagrams, installation instructions, Visio diagrams, etc.
+ Builds critical Appian based application as well as associated integration components in Java.
+ Provides technical guidance to mid-level developers as and when required.
+ Participates in customer and team meetings to support various program tasks including design review, stage gates, technical roadmap, production troubleshooting including performance issues, etc.
+ Works closely with release manager to ensure completion of key tasks including deployment, code baseline and merge, version control, etc.
+ Works throughout the entire project life cycle (requirements review, technical design, development, deployment and maintenance)
+ Contribute toward developing solution guidelines, standards and best practices
+ Supports the efforts to deploy DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation efforts across the service area
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
+ 2+ years’ experience in information systems development
+ Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting software
+ Excellent verbal and communications skills
+ US Citizenship
+ Ability to obtain a NACLC (T3)
AREAS OF EMPHASIS INCLUDE:
+ An intermediate or above level of proficiency with MS Office products (E.g., Word, PowerPoint, Access)
+ Demonstrated experience regularly troubleshooting systems functionality
+ Demonstrated experience consulting with internal and external customers to understand business and technical needs, and make recommendations as needed
