Job Description

Summary: Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution.

Key Accountabilities:

+ Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware

+ Respond to queries either in person or over the phone

+ Write training manuals

+ Train computer users

+ Maintain daily performance of computer systems

+ Respond to email messages for customers seeking help

+ Ask questions to determine nature of problem

+ Walk customer through problem-solving process

+ Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software

+ Clean up computers

+ Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems

+ Install computer peripherals for users

+ Follow up with customers to enure issue has been resolved

+ Gain feedback from customers about computer usage

+ Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise

+ Performs all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

+ Experienced in Information Technology (IT) support in a manufacturing environment

Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

+ Ability to support plant floor activities, including follow-up, and assisting the plant employees in resolving manufacturing problems with Information Technology (IT) solutions and applications

+ Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive and cooperative relationships in the face of problems

+ Demonstrated ability to prevent and solve simple problems, seeking help from others when required

+ Ability to use appropriate methods of communications (face-to-face, email, phone, etc.) to achieve desired results

+ Ability to manage multiple issues at one time, handling appropriate priorities

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Resourceful and well organized

+ Ability to establish credibility, be decisive, and support organization’s preferences and priorities

+ Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations

+ Ability to work any shift as well as overtime as needed
