Purpose and Essential Duties

The Junior Engineering Fellowship is a full-time, one-year, renewable position. This fellowship provides a rich, in-depth learning experience for a recent Engineering graduate or Engineer in Training interested in a career in engineering and/or energy solutions. Working directly with the EVP and other members of the Engineering leadership team, the junior fellow will receive collaborative training and professional development in a wide range of leadership areas, including strategy development and implementation, engineering management, project management, strategic communications, and operational leadership. Specific responsibilities include:

+ Collaborate with the EVP and other leaders on the coordination of key strategic priorities

+ Contribute to planning and participate in leadership and operational meetings

+ Support various engineering projects of the fellow’s choice with leadership approval that applies knowledge gained and advances Bernhard’s mission

+ Conduct technical assessments, calculations, research, and design development as needed to support the leadership team

+ Represent and serve as a brand ambassador for Bernhard at meetings, conferences, and other venues as assigned.

+ Administrative Duties as assigned by Company Leadership

This position is Full Time, Exempt and reports to the EVP, Engineering Division.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Energy preferred

+ Interest in learning the management/operational side of engineering

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ Excellent Microsoft Office skills

+ Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

+ Well versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.

+ Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

Travel Requirements

+ Frequent travel to Company or client locations. Up to 50% of time will be spent traveling.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

+ Shall require long periods of sitting or standing at a desk in front of a computer in a quiet office environment.

+ Will require on occasion the ability to walk, climb and crawl on a project construction site on.

+ On occasion shall be exposed to inclement weather.
