Plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of the hotel front desk that provide lodging and other accommodations for the hotel. Provide basic information to guests, visitors, and clients. Confer and cooperate with supervisors and managers to ensure coordination of basic hotel activities.
Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotel..
Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems.
Issue room keys.
Make and confirm reservations.
Verify customers’ credit and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation.
Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computers is required to check in guests, create invoices and manage online bookings.
Communication: Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills are important as the hotel Front Desk Agents will use these skills to identify a guest’s satisfaction or dissatisfaction with their stay.
Customer Service: Customer service skills are a requirement as a Hotel Front Desk Agent. Front Desk Agents work with guests when checking in, checking out and when guests request information for the front desk.
Problem Solving: Guest often come to the Hotel Front Desk Agent with problems. The ability to identify & overcome a problem can be useful in this role.
