QC Chemistry Technician -
Location – Memphis TN
Excellent opportunity to work in support of R&D product development !
Flexible work schedule – 2 days on days – 2 days on nights
During the first 4 weeks of training, there may be a Monday-Friday (8hr)
Providing analytical analysis to the plant and to the R & D organization in inspection/testing of raw materials, in process samples, final product samples and shipments.
Daily standards and calibrations are also required on the instrumentation. Principal Accountabilities Inspection and Testing – All activities related to the testing of raw materials, work in process, environmental samples, and final products including customer complaints testing and non-production related samples in accordance with ISO specifications following standard practices and procedures
Verify and calibrate all test equipment per manufacturing recommendations, ASTMs and test methods. Example tests include pH, GC, GC-MS, HPLC, etc.
Perform minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of instruments, test methods and laboratory practices
Experience Bachelor s degree in chemistry or biology is preferred, bachelors degree in science required Minimum of 2 to 3 years of lab experience in a chemical plant environment is preferred Preferences include comprehensive knowledge of analytical chemistry including methods development, operational and maintenance knowledge of analytical testing equipment such as HPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC-MS, and IR Spectrophotometry.
