There’s currently a position available through Robert Half at a growing Manufacturing firm for an efficient, accurate Staff Accountant. This company is offering a dynamic, multi-faceted contract opportunity where effort is rewarded. Responsibilities held by the Staff Accountant include the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a time commitment, since it produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You’ll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You’ll also be reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and playing an active role in compliance.


- Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis for management reporting

Requirements – 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

- Deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

- SQL experience preferred

- Well-founded grasp of account reconciliation

- Proven knowledge of Adjusting Journal Entries

- Experience with month end closings

- Oracle experience

- Quality experience with Pivot Table

- Practical knowledge of VLOOKUP

- Process Payroll experience preferred

- General familiarity with Microsoft Excel

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Efficient in ERP systems
