Education: Graduation from an AMA approved school or training program in Nuclear Medicine Technology or appropriate on the job training to meet the qualifications to sit for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Registry or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Nuclear Medicine (registry eligible). Training and Experience: The ability to perform all types of nuclear medicine diagnostic exams. Job Knowledge: Familiar with all phases of Nuclear Medicine Department operation. Familiar with techniques and department procedures necessary to deliver appropriate care while considering the physical and psychological needs of neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Able to demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span, able to assess the patient’s status, identify each patient’s age specific needs and to provide the needed care. Performs all types of nuclear medicine exams done in the Nuclear Medicine area. Assists in other areas of the Radiology Department/Hospital as needed.
