Job Description

The Bakers responsibilities include preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, amenities, displays/centerpieces and special request items. Essential Duties Include de the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, property and safely. * Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and ASM Global/Branson Convention Center standards. * Meet with the Executive Chef and or Sous Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance. * Complete Opening Duties: 1. Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tolls. Equipment and supplies. 2. Check B.E.O. (Banquet Event Order) 3. Establish priority items for the day. 4. Inform the Executive Chef or Sous Chef of any supplies that need to be requisitioned. * Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to departmental standards. * Inform the Executive Chef or Sous Chef of any foreseeable shortages before items run out. * Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and ASM Global/Branson Convention Center requirements. * Minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost. * Be able to plan and prepare for catering and special events and understand B.E.O’s * Show interest in participating in menu planning for dessert items. Working Conditions * Moderate noise level * Ability to lift in excess of 75 pounds and must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch. * This position requires work inside and outside of the building, parking lots included and some exposure to adverse conditions. * Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices. * Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions. * Ability to demonstrate excellence in everything, and continually seek improvement in results. Qualifications * High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate; certification of culinary train or apprenticeship preferred. * Food handling or ServSafe certificate preferred * Should have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Baker in the hospitality industry. * Ability to work with limited supervision. * Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. * Must have a professional attitude and appearance.
