Senior Production Planner - PPI (Springdale, AR)

Job Description

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for generating multiple production schedules on a daily basis. Responsible for advanced planning strategies based on customer demand line capacities and raw material requirements. This position is also responsible for ordering direct materials from outside suppliers and managing that inventory on a daily basis. Raw material and finished inventories are reviewed daily to assist in the ingredient ordering process and order fill goals. Monitoring customer shipments out of the cross dock warehouses will also be required cross dock orders will need to be placed keeping in mind freight optimization. Daily tasks consist of balancing ingredient inventories; verifying receipt of ingredient deliveries; and working through any date issues for raw and finished items. Responsible for resolving production variances maintaining order fill rate and discount sale goals and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This position will require some weekend and holiday work.

REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 4 plus years of experience preferred; general animal science knowledge and/or Consumer Products, Logistics, Case Ready Beef and Pork, Supply Chain Management is preferred. Computer Skills: Requires standard computer skills. Generating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and creating DB2 queries. Knowledge of Production Planning and/or Tyson’s internal systems such as OP/PA are considered a plus. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members in all levels of the company. Special Skills: Strong organization strategic thinking communication skills and strong analytical skills are a must. Must work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet deadlines in a reasonable time frame with a positive upbeat attitude; ability to collaborate with others and drive for results in a timely manner. Supervisory: This position does not have direct reports. Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year
