+ SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY – Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)

+ Under the close direction of the Patient Access Manager, the Patient Access Coordinator ensures timely and accurate registration of all patients. Creates a positive impression and maintains good customer service principles for each patient, family member, visitor or staff while routing patients, family or visitors. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes the team concept and reflects the goals, values, mission and philosophy of Baptist Health System. This is a highly visible and responsible position in the health system

+ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience

+ EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE: One (1) year hospital registration, medical office, insurance company, or related field required. CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, BONDING: None

+ PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned environment, but occasionally will be required to visit employer sites with extremes in heat or cold. May be required to sit for long periods of time but occasional walking/standing is required. Minimal lifting may be required on an infrequent basis. Local travel may be required to employer, physician clinic sites, and area hospitals.
