NSK Steering Systems America (NSSA) is a worldwide leader in steering system technology, proudly supplying the North America automotive industry. Our Dyersburg, TN location is looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager.
The Maintenance Manager will direct the maintenance function for the facility and use maintenance personnel to ensure department objectives are met including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost factors.
The NSSA Maintenance Manager position plays a significant role in the safety and continuous improvement activities of the facility along with developing an effective maintenance staff through leadership and personnel management competencies. This is a salary exempt position with a primarily day-shift work schedule however, must be flexible as business needs arise on off shifts and off hours. The salary range depends on education/experience. This position reports directly to the Technical Operations Manager and manages DTN’s maintenance & preventive maintenance technicians (14-18 hourly associates).
+ Establish key maintenance performance metrics (downtime, mean time between failure, recurrence prevention, etc.) and track performance accordingly with countermeasure action.
+ Coordinate the inspection, preventive, breakdown maintenance and corrective maintenance of all plant mechanical, electrical, manufacturing and facility equipment.
+ Ensure all maintenance department personnel adhere to all applicable department and plant safety policies and procedures.
+ Lead and direct employee functions such as selection, hiring, and development of employees, including making salary decisions, conducting performance reviews, and creating development plans.
+ Manage training of personnel, including sponsor certifications and hands-on training. Serve as a mentor.
+ Oversee the plant preventive maintenance program to ensure effectiveness on minimizing
+ Maintain efficient, accurate and timely records and reports relating to all projects and equipment within the manufacturing facility.
+ Assist in the installation of equipment in the plant.
+ Support plant contractor management policies and ensure adherence to those policies.
+ Willingness to work unusual hours, including weekends or nights in emergency situations.
+ Coordinate with the production department on the scheduling of down time for repair and maintenance of equipment.
+ Oversee maintenance and manufacturing budgets to include labor cost.
+ Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
+ When necessary, may perform other typical duties.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – We’d love to hear from people with:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and/or equivalent education and experience
+ At least 3 years Maintenance Management experience “Manager of Others” & at least 5 years experience in maintenance positions such as Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Supervisor, etc.
+ Strongly desire OE automotive experience in an assembly manufacturing environment
+ This position requires Journey Level Multi-Craft-hands on experience in industrial environment, electronics, PLC, motor controls coupled with strong mechanical experience preferably in machining and building maintenance trades knowledge, skills and experience.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the Manager is regularly required to stand 8-12 hours per work day. The Manager is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, hand, or feel; and talk to hear. The Manager is occasionally required to sit and reach with arms and hands. Occasionally lifting/or moving up to 40lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
