Position: Director of Sales & Marketing Facility Name: Brookshire Grocery Arena Location: Bossier City, LA Department: Marketing Job Type: Full Time/Exempt Reports To: General Manager Regular/Temporary: Regular ASM GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Director of Sales & Marketing for ASM Global at Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City, LA. The Director of Sales & Marketing directs a wide range of marketing campaigns for the facility, leads the sales and sponsorship program which includes corporate sales (suites, club seats, event sponsors, etc.) in conjunction with the advertising, public relations and related tasks. Director of Sales & Marketing works directly with facility partners such as tenants, promoters, sponsors, suite holders, and advertising clients to make sure all their needs are met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential job tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned: * Directs the public relations image of the facility. Establishes and maintains relationships with media, industry influencers and key community and strategic partners. Acts as facility spokesperson and liaison with the public. * Develops and implements an advertising and publicity campaign to create local, regional, and national awareness of the facility. * Creates and supervises complete marketing plans for events, to include all available services: group sales, public relations, media planning & buying, social media, promotional development, creating partnerships, non-profit opportunities, etc. * Operates the department with a conscious commitment to maximum exposure for the facility and its events, through the most effective and efficient means possible. * Develops marketing materials and procedures to have the department function effectively as an in-house advertising agency. Consults with outside agencies when needed. * Aggressively seeks new contacts and maintains working relationships with all media representatives, civic and industry organizations, corporate promotional contacts, and event and booking representatives. * Explores new avenues of revenue(s) for the facility. * Remains current on national trends in the industry & local market changes to best serve the facility. * Develops and maintains the facility website, and all social media sites. * Manages all aspects of facility sponsorships. * Directly supervises Marketing and Public Relations staff. * Assist General Manager with Crisis Management issues & concerns. * Acts as Director on Duty as needed for events. * Performs other duties as assigned by General Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises Managers, Assistants or Coordinators in the Sales Department. The Director of Sales & Marketing carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global policies and applicable laws. Education and Experience Ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, or Public Relations along with 5+ years industry experience in a senior management function of a Theater/Performing Arts Center, Arena, Convention Center or stadium, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills and Abilities * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and organizational ability * Strong orientation towards hospitality/customer service for the meeting and convention industry * Ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff. * Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. * Demonstrates high level of energy and self-motivation to work efficiently and effectively. * Follows oral and written instructions and communicates effectively with others in both oral and written form. * Demonstrates knowledge and experience in the principles, practices, and terminology of sales and marketing (sales, advertising, marketing, sales presentations, and public speaking) * Ability to speak comfortably in public and respond in a professional and diplomatic manner during crisis and/or sympathetic situations. * Ability to prioritize work and perform effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. * Maintains an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment. * Work independently, exercising good judgment and initiative. * Operate a personal computer using Windows, Word, Excel, and other standard office equipment. Computer Skills * To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of spreadsheet software and work processing software and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point Other Qualifications * Ability to work with minimal supervision. * Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management. * Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to regular business hours. * Ability to travel required. * This position will require the applicant to pass a background check.
