Manufacturing Technology Principal Engineer
Chemours is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Principal Engineer to join our growing Technology team! This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager in our Memphis, TN location.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
o Lead the development, transfer and implementation of manufacturing technologies for Acrylonitrile and Hydrogen Cyanide
o Provide technical and custodial support of the existing and ongoing technology licenses within Mining Solutions
o Provides technical leadership to improve process safety, reliability, capability and productivity of the technologies implemented at Chemours cyanide plants and technologies that are licensed
o Lead the development, engineering, implementation and support of major capital projects, including scope and basic data development, project oversight and equipment start up at Mining Solutions manufacturing plants
o Leads and/or participates in Process Hazards Analysis reviews of capital projects and technology license projects.
o Provides organizational leadership, including mentoring of Manufacturing Technical team members
o Network with peers and leverage knowledge from other functions and corporate groups
o Assist in training the manufacturing line organization (operations and maintenance) to boost the organization’s knowledge and capability.
In order to be qualified for this role, you /must possess/ the following:
o BS, MS or Phd degree Chemical Engineering
o Viewed as an expert in the chemical industry. Significant experience with production of Acrylonitrile, Hydrogen Cyanide or Sodium Cyanide and highly toxic materials is highly preferred OR Military Equivalent Experience
o Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects
o Six Sigma Experience is preferred
o Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, solve or help others solve equipment and/or process issues
o Demonstrated knowledge of key PSM Technology elements such as Process Hazards Analysis, Process Technology, Management of Change-Technology, RAGAGEP among others
o Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor develop others, and work in a team based environment
§ Process Modeling Experience with ASPEN, HTRI….desired
o Demonstrated skill in leadership, team building and achieving results through influence and negotiation
o Well-developed technical writing skills
o Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must work well in both self-managed and team environment
o Ability to access and network with appropriate site and corporate teams to gain or share knowledge
o Self-management skills with strong initiative
o Provide leadership skills and able to listen to team members’ input to make recommendations aligned with production goals
o Ability and willingness to travel in the US and globally
