Responsible for the first impression of Arkansas Children’s Ambulatory Care Services; Performs functions relative to scheduling and registration for outpatient clinics including complete and accurate demographic and insurance information. Fluent in Spanish.

1. Schedules patients for outpatient appointments
Schedules all patient appointments per protocols and ensures referrals are obtained
Meets or exceeds expected productivity and accuracy standards, workflows and other metrics
Coordinates ancillary services with clinic appointment when applicable
Able to schedule in 1 or more clinics/procedures (in addition to Home Center)
2. Register patients for outpatient visits
Greets and engages patients, families and visitors in order to provide a positive first impression
Completes discharge activities per protocols, including co-payment collection, MyChart activation, insurance verification, etc.
Completes discharge scheduling per protocol and actively engages patient/families to ensure follow up appointments and tests are scheduled appropriately
Meets or exceeds expected productivity and accuracy standards for check-in time, work-queue resolution and other metrics
Able to register in 1 or more Center (in addition to Home Center)
3. Patient Experience
Uses strategies such as AIDET, LAST, STAR to provide excellent customer service consistent with the Arkansas Children’s values.
Collaborates with clinical partners to optimize patient communication, clinic flow and ongoing care
Actively engages in activities to enhance the patient experience, including encouragement of the patient satisfaction survey
4. Additional Duties
Seeks opportunities to acquire additional skills and/or assist others upon completion of daily duties
Required – High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (College hours and/or degree preferred)
Preferred – Certificate from college program or technical school – Field of Study: Healthcare
Preferred – Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma – Field of Study: Healthcare
Preferred – Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university – Field of Study: Healthcare
Required – 1 years total experience required, which includes 1 year of Customer Service experience
Preferred – 1 years Medical Office Setting, Medical Billing, Medical Coding, Call Center experience preferred
