The person hired into this role will manage all Woodson truck drivers, optimize scheduling efficiencies, and ensure DOT compliance for all drivers.

Key responsibilities:

+ Plan, Brief, Execute, Debrief

+ Lead, Manage, Accountability of a high performing team

+ Hire & onboard all truck drivers

+ Ensure DOT compliance with inspections

+ Obtain licenses and permits

+ Develop and communicate schedule to truck drivers that meets Project Management needs

+ Ensure Driver assessments are complete and driver files are accurate and compliant

+ Driver expense management

+ Communicate truck maintenance needs to Equipment Maintenance

+ Complete annual 2290 and other required compliance reports

+ Lead and initiate all DOT training to include, initial training, remedial training and quarterly training and maintain records of training.

+ Train drivers in correct procedures for pre/post trip inspections and hold them accountable.

+ Conduct inspections for proper housekeeping and DOT violations on fleet and hold them accountable.

+ Understand and communicate DOT laws and identify changes. Assure compliance

+ Ensure company programs and policies are adhered to and follow the Woodson disciplinary policy to hold personnel accountable.

+ Periodic review of OTR driving JSA?s

+ Develop equipment inventories for entire fleet to include safety equipment, up-time kits, cones, signs, etc.

+ Monitor and maintain driver information in telematics to include hours of service violations, log edits, and proper use of telematics by drivers.

+ Monitor and ensure compliance with hours of service

+ Ensure accurate and timely paperwork from drivers

+ Be on call to drivers at all times to answer questions when needed

Key qualifications

+ Safety first mindset

+ 3-5 years of driving experience with a clean driving record

+ High school diploma or GED

+ Strong organizational abilities

+ Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all levels of the organization

+ Willingness and abilities to utilize technology, such as Excel and various software systems, to organize data

+ Strong problem solving skills

+ Attention to detail in order to ensure compliance with all DOT regulations

+ Strong understanding of all DOT paperwork, including logs, DVIRs and Mileage Trip Sheets
