Description:

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

This role provides support for real time specific applications for the business unit. The primary responsibility is application development (full lifecycle), maintenance and support of Entergy’s Market and Vendor Applications. This includes PI (Process Information, PI Vision, Asset Framework), PCI (PowerCosts Inc), MV90 Itron Systems, GE Outage Systems, TIBCO and Custom Application Support, for the Nuclear, Power Generation, System Planning and Operations, Transmission, Distribution and Utility Operations Business Units.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Provide operational support, ensuring production systems and devices are online and available; this includes non-business hours on-call support

+ Understand client requirements and how they translate to application features/enhancements.

+ Troubleshooting and Debugging of Custom and Vendor Applications.

+ Learn and understand power system operations business needs and objectives; recommend and design applications, and implement enhancements that meet customer business needs.

+ Provide and maintain real time systems application availability, ensuring that applications are active and operating as defined in any Service Level Agreements

+ Support the design, development, and testing of real time systems applications and enhancements

+ Provide an interface with software vendors for discussion, consultation, problem solving and best upgrade practices on the 3 rd party Market Application systems.

+ Participate in the team 24 hour on-call rotation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical degree or Experience Equivalent

Minumum experience required of the position:

+ 6+ years of relevant technology delivery with Subject Matter Expertise for Operational technology (OT).

+ Provide operational support, ensuring production systems and devices are online and available; this includes non-business hours on-call support

+ Understand client business needs & objectives

+ Demonstrated track record of relevant technology delivery

Critical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

+ Proficient in the following tools: Visual Studio, SQL Developer, Toad or Management Studio, OSI PI (Processbooks, Archive, PI Vision, Asset Framework)

+ Proficient in the following languages: C#, Java, MSSQL, Oracle, JQuery, MVC, Scripting.

+ Ability to develop Web, Client, Service and Console applications to fulfill needs of customers.

+ Analytical thinking and problem solving capabilities

+ Ability to support cyber security activities such as, system hardening, patch management, and configuration management

+ Knowledge of security controls testing, security audits, and security assessments

+ Ability to troubleshoot Windows and or Linux Operating Systems and correct issues.

+ Ability to support of fraud and computer forensics research

+ Ability critically analyze an issue with other team members and come to the most reasonable and least impactful direction.

Leadership Style/Characteristics:

+ Highly motivated and ability to work with little direct supervision

+ Ability to implement process improvements where needed to streamline process workflow without being requested by business.

+ Effective Teamwork and Inclusion (e.g. works collaboratively, builds collaborative relationships)

+ Good written and oral communication skills
