Job Description


The formal education of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field and at least five years relevant experience is required. Relevant advanced Business Analyst certifications, and experience working with Oracle and SQL Server databases and application servers are highly desired. Knowledge of Arkansas court systems and understanding of the use of technology in court applications is highly desirable. BAs must have strong computer and communication skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365, strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently, multitask and the ability to meet deadlines. BAs must be familiar with industry accepted business practices, agile software development, DevOps and agile methodologies.

Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

•Knowledge of Arkansas court business processes and procedures

•Knowledge of project management and process improvement methodologies

•Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with court and non-court, legal and non-legal, technical and non-technical personnel

•Exceptional analytical and creative problem-solving skills

•Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Microsoft Office, Visio, Excel, and Outlook

•Ability to accurately chart existing business processes, provide thorough analysis, and recommend improvements

•Ability to analyze and evaluate comparative data, graphically represent work flows, and present in front of large groups

•Ability to provide classroom training on the use of the applications and provide application support to court end users

•Ability to identify gaps and define functional requirements for system usage and reporting of data out of the systems

•Ability to effectively multitask, work well under pressure on an agile team, and meet deadlines

Examples of Work

•Produce accurate and complete business process documentation and workflows to use in system configuration, data conversion, training materials, and application support

•Analyze impacts to software applications throughout all phases of projects

•Work with application developers to translate high-level business requirements into functional and technical specifications or user stories

•Propose changes to system software, validation tables, code tables, and rule tables

•Maintain system expertise by participating in testing of training materials, software patches, upgrades, configuration, and conversion results

•Analyze the impact of conversion designs and document process changes that result from data conversions

•Create specification requirements for documents and reports and update change tracking documentation

•Develop documents and documentation for court use

•Conduct application training sessions and provide support to end users, both in-person and remote

•Provide business process information to the training personnel for development of training materials

•Review project and application issues and assess user performance to recommend improvements with internal processes, system configuration, security, training, and application support

•Provide details, estimate duration, and log time on assigned tasks and issues

•Other duties as assigned.
