Be a part of our Rating Team! Our Commercial Insurance Raters process policy transactions in support of Commercial Lines Underwriting which includes rating and classification of risks within established levels of underwriting authority, and in accordance with published rules and regulations.

Responsibilities include:

+ Rating and issuing various transactions including but not limited to new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations involving all Commercial Lines of Business for the licensed States within the Company, using available data processing equipment.

+ Meeting established production goals while maintaining high levels of quality and managing work to meet established company service standards.

+ Classifying risks and rates according to current manual rules and related instructions.

+ Contacting Agents, Bureaus, or Company underwriting regarding rating matters and responding appropriately to agents’ or underwriting requests for rating information.

+ Participating in testing and on-line technical assistance to team members.

+ Coordinating various job duties in an effective and efficient manner.

+ Maintaining good working relationship with supervisor, associates, agents, and public and contributes to a cooperative work environment.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

+ Insurance course work and/or college desirable.

+ A minimum of 2 years of multi-line, multi-state, rating experience.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel).

+ Must have good judgment and decision making ability.

+ Must manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

+ Manual rating experience highly desired.

+ Ability to read and comprehend instructions provided for navigation and effective use of Company Policy Rating System, Imaging System, External Site Rating Bureaus and other system supported rating tools.

+ Ability to read, comprehend, and use judgement in following Bypass criteria. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
