The person hired for the position of Systems Technician will maintain analog/digital equipment and network components, maintain electrical/industrial equipment and components, program/troubleshoot programmable devices, install/upgrade equipment, maintain/troubleshoot hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, program/troubleshoot/calibrate instrumentation, and perform miscellaneous tasks.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
+ Layouts, facilitates, plans, and documents the installation, maintenance, repair, replacement, modification, troubleshooting, diagnosing, programming, optimization and design of existing and new manufacturing equipment and all the associated control of that equipment.
+ Provide Production, Division Engineering, PI&C Engineering and Plant Engineering advanced systems expertise with the ability to program, install and optimize new equipment and controls.
+ Perform the essential functions of the job within acceptable MSHA and safety/ environmental regulations, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, procedures and applicable work instructions
This position will require:
+ Weekend work
+ Working overtime
This position may require:
+ Working on holidays as needed
+ Short notice shift coverage
+ Working afternoon or night shifts
+ Frequent physical demands, including:
+ i.e.: lifting up to 50 lbs.
+ i.e.: frequent standing/sitting/squatting
+ Possess a two-year Technical Degree or Diploma (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
+ Minimum one (1) year experience in heavy industry with emphasis on installation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and controls in a private, public, government, or military environment.
+ Minimum five (5) years’ experience in heavy industry with emphasis on installation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and controls in a private, public, government, or military environment.
+ Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
